Wine Store Manager Freelance (5 days / week) 

Opened in July 2022 Cavewoman Wines is a modern wine store and tasting room in Paris’ 11th district, with a focus on female producers. Our clientele is 70% English-speaking expats and visitors and 30% local French customers. Our style is relaxed, anti-snobbish wine advice that delights and surprises. 

This role works Tuesday-Saturday 11h-19h30 (and occasional evenings as needed for events 1-2 per week).

Duties include

• Welcoming customers and quickly building rapport (in English and in French) 

• Advising and orientating clients on their wine selection

• Completing POS transactions (we use Square - it’s very intuitive!)

• Receiving stock deliveries, updating stock levels in inventory, restocking shelves and basement storage 

• Organising delivery of wine to our restaurant and bar partners 

• Cleaning the wine store daily

• Performing opening and closing duties

• Contributing content for the Cavewoman Wines instagram account

Candidates with the following abilities will be considered

• The ability to work legally in France, ideally with status to invoice as a contractor (auto entrepreneur, micro-entrepreneur, SAS/U EURL etc) 

• Fluent in English and French

• Smiley, friendly and able to quickly build rapport with customers

• Good working knowledge of French wine and wine regions

• Computer savvy, able to quickly learn new systems 

• Able to carry and manoeuvre heavy boxes of wine 

• Great attention to detail (with regards to customer transactions, with aesthetic details for boutique displays etc)

• Good eye for visual merchandising for window and in-store displays

• Any WSET level or other comparable wine qualification not necessary but a bonus

Pay for this role is set at 500€ / week.
